Recreational Pursuits

Bali allows visitors a myriad of ways to be as active or laidback as you wish. Certainly, many visitors to the island prefer to sun-worship, while others choose to indulge in activities as diverse as diving in the crystal-clear waters off Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan, or perhaps a visit to the innovative Green School built entirely of sustainable bamboo about fifteen minutes drive from Ubud in Sibang Kaja. Surfing is also popular at renowned beaches like Dreamland in Ulutwatu and Echo Beach in Canggu. If you’ve never surfed before, there are many surfing schools that will definitely help you hang ten with ease in no time! For those who like a rush of adrenaline, white water raft down the sacred and challenging Ayung River, horseback ride through the island’s famous rice terraces or tour the island’s dense bamboo forests on the back of an elephant!
