<p>Founded in Beaune in 1731 by Michel Bouchard, Bouchard Père &amp; Fils has remained one of Burgundy’s oldest family-owned estates. His son Joseph joined the firm in 1746 and by 1750 had taken over the family business. In 1755 Joseph Bouchard acquired the domaine’s first vineyard (the famed Volnay Premier Cru “Les Caillerets”), marking the birth of the family domaine. Through the 19th century, successive generations continued expanding the estate’s holdings – notably adding the Beaune Grèves ‘Vigne de l’Enfant Jésus’ and other Grand Cru parcels – making Bouchard one of the region’s leading négociants.</p><p><br></p>
